Greenland Is the World's Largest Island

Greenland is the world's largest island, lying in the North Atlantic Ocean. It extends about 1,660 miles from north to south and more than 650 miles from east to west at its widest point, with two-thirds of the island lying within the Arctic Circle. Despite its name, about 80% of Greenland is covered by an ice sheet.
