The Mongol Empire Facilitated the Spread of Gunpowder to Europe

One of the most significant technological transfers in history occurred during the Mongol Empire, the spread of gunpowder from China to the West. The Mongols first encountered gunpowder weapons during their conquest of China and quickly recognized their military potential. They adopted Chinese engineers and gunpowder technology, using cannons and explosive weapons in their sieges. As the Mongols expanded westward, they brought this knowledge with them.
