President William Howard Taft was a large man, tipping the scales at over 300 pounds. According to White House lore, he once got stuck in the bathtub and needed several aides to help pull him free. Whether this actually happened is debated by historians, but Taft did install a specially oversized tub in the White House, one so large that four grown men could fit inside it. The tub was seven feet long and weighed a ton.
